Why did you get involved with volunteering at BHS?I moved to Chico last year and I wanted to meet new people who also have a love for animals.
What is your favorite part of volunteering at BHS?
I really love socializing with the animals and interacting with the community to let them know about all the services BHS provides in addition to adopting out animals.
Is there anything you have learned during your time at BHS that you have shared with others?
I share with people how easy and fun it is to volunteer with BHS. I have also learned just how much animals mean to people by sharing stories at community and outreach events.
Do you have any animals of your own?
Of course I have animals of my own! I lost my doxie travel buddy, Benny, at age 11 last year. He gave me my love for doxies. The last couple years I fostered 8 other dogs and 2 of them now live with me forever. And a third was adopted by my mom. I have a 4yo pitbull mix, Pearl and a 2yo doxie mix named George. My mom has George’s littermate, Vincent. We love all our little furballs!!!
