*In accordance with California Rabies Laws and Regulations, 12690, item b, every dog over the age of four months shall be vaccinated against rabies. The law does not require rabies vaccinations for cats. However, because of the high incidence of rabies in Butte County, the BHS Spay/Neuter Clinic requires that all cats and kittens over the age of three months be vaccinated. This is necessary for the health of the cat, the safety of family members and friends, and our clinic staff. If an unvaccinated cat scratches or bites someone, it must be quarantined for an extended period of time.
**To purchase heartworm prevention or have your pet tested, your dog or cat must have been examined by our veterinarian within the last 12 months.
Euthanasia:
Butte Humane Society offers affordable euthanasia by appointment only. Please call 530.343.7917 option 3 to schedule an appointment. ***ALL euthanasia appointments require a vet exam with our veterinarian. The exam is $35. Please note that we will not euthanize healthy, adoptable animals.***
