Rupert is beaming with joy now, but he had a really bad day last month when someone fell on him, which snapped his leg in two. Although his owners took him to the vet, they could not afford the operation and instead had to surrender him to City of Chico AnimalServices. BHS quickly took him into our care.
When we reviewed the X-rays for Rupert’s leg, the damage was too extensive for us to repair, so amputation was recommended as a means to get Rupert to full health and adoptable status. Rupert’s operation took $700 in total out of the Dorothy N. Johnson Second Chance Fund. We are happy to report that he is now healthy and ready to find a new home! Please, if you have money to spare consider donating to the fund that saved Rupert and many more animals this month!https://buttehumane.org/secondchance
