By her Human, Lyndsey Wernholm
My roommates and I first started fostering Brownie back in September 2019 when she was brought to Butte Humane Society from Red Bluff. It took her a few days to warm up to us and her new environment, but we all knew she loved all of us girls. We had her for about a month before she was first adopted by a couple who already had a large female dog. My roommates and I were very sad, but we were hopeful that Brownie had found her forever home.
After about three months after being adopted, Butte Humane Society reached back out to us telling us Brownie would be coming back and would need to come back into foster immediately. We all had mixed emotions, we were so excited to see Brownie again, but knew this wasn’t the ideal situation for her. She immediately warmed back up to us and seemed happy to be back! Then again about a month later, she got adopted. It took only five days until Butte Humane Society reached out to us again that Brownie would be coming back to us.
This is when I knew in my gut, I was going to adopt Brownie. After talking through it with basically everyone I know, I did it! Now Brownie is currently quarantining with me in my hometown. She is having the time of her life running around in the backyard and sunbathing by the pool. Oh! And of course, running around with her two new best friends, my dog Gunner, and cat Teddy. I love her so much and am so happy she is finally mine!
