It can be difficult to find things for groups larger than 3-4 people to do at BHS. Many of the things we need done are more appropriate for smaller groups or people who are interested in volunteering on a long term basis, rather than just a day.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Butte Humane Society! We greatly appreciate the community’s support. Butte Humane Society is a non-profit and we rely on volunteer help to run our day to day operations.
We appreciate the thought of having your group do a community day, however, it can be a bit tricky finding things for large groups to do at our facility. We are always happy to accommodate groups of 2 – 4 people. If you have a larger group, we encourage you to volunteer for our two large events each year – Woofstock and Gala. If volunteering at an event doesn’t work, below are two other options that are always beneficial to Butte Humane Society!
- Coin Fundraiser
- We provide the signs and paint cans to collect the coins
- Donation Drive
- Check out our donation requests on https://buttehumane.org/wishlist/
We appreciate all of the support we receive from the community and would like to return that support by helping our local school groups complete volunteer hours. The minimum age that we require is 12 years old – however, this does require an adult chaperone (1 adult per 4 children).
Please Note: Interacting with animals requires more training than can be provided in a day. We appreciate you wanting to help at BHS and our animals, however, you will not be interacting directly with the animals. If you would like to be more involved with the animals, please contact our Volunteer Programs Manager, Meaghan, at meaghanjohnson@buttehumane.org to discuss the possibility of being one of our regular volunteers.
If you are still interested in volunteering onsite, please complete the below form and we will be in contact with you to see how your group can help Butte Humane Society!
Please note if any attendees are under 16 they will have to be supervised by an adult in your group. Our minimum age is 12 years old and we require 1 chaperone per 4 children. Any Junior Volunteers between the ages of 12-15 will need a signed waiver by a parent or guardian. All volunteers will be required to sign a waiver before volunteering.
