Adoption time!
As our kittens (and cats, and puppies, and dogs, oh my!) complete their spay/neuter surgeries, they become available for adoption. We put their profile up on our website for everyone to see!
Anyone who is interested in adopting a new family member can submit an application here https://buttehumane.org/adopt-today/
It’s important to note that you do NOT have to apply for a specific animal! If you think you might want to adopt a cat or dog, go ahead and submit an application. Our adoption staff will review it and contact you for any clarification, and to schedule a time to come in and meet with our critters. Our staff spend a lot of time with our residents and will do their best to pick out some potential matches for you. We want you to find your perfect lovebug on the first try!
You might ask, “Do I have to have an appointment?” And the answer to that is “usually”. We now have walk in hours on Thursdays and Fridays from 12pm-4pm. The rest of the week we require an appointment to ensure that staff are available to introduce you to your new possible family member. If you come in during walk-in hours, and haven’t applied yet, we will have you fill one out in our lobby. You can use your smart phone or one of our ipads for a larger screen.
If you are here for a kitty and fall in love, you can usually take him or her home that day! If you fall in love with a dog, we usually will schedule a second meet. This is especially required if you already have another dog (or more) at home. The adoption staff working with you will schedule a time for you to bring your dog/s to meet your potential new pack member. We strive for 0% return adoptions, so we want to make sure that the dogs get along before sending them home with you.
You might be wondering how our Halloween Town litter is doing.
THEY ARE ALL ADOPTED!!!! WOOHOO!!
They left the shelter with their new families faster than I could say “Halloween Town are all available for adoption”. Have you ever gotten a puppy, kitten, or human child, blinked, and suddenly they were so grown up? That’s the feeling we have here every time we say goodbye to these precious little fluffballs! I wasn’t able to get any adoption day photos, but I can imagine them each snuggled up in their new homes, loving their new families.
Did you know that we have a Facebook page for anyone who has adopted from us? If you have adopted and want to share updates, you can join here https://www.facebook.com/groups/278002722728206 We LOVE to see everyone thriving! I especially love when folks to DNA tests on their dogs and share the fun mixes that comes back.
Stay tuned for our next Intake to Adoption litter!
