Many injured animals have been transferred to other shelters and veterinary offices (including BHS, Haven Humane, UC Davis, SF SPCA, etc.).
Butte Humane Society
Butte Humane Society is committed to providing long term aftercare to those who have been displaced by the fire.
The Butte Humane Society Veterinary Clinic is currently offering FREE microchips & core vaccines to anyone who has been affected. It is also now offering exams, heartworm testing, & Feline Viral testing at no cost. To schedule an appointment, call 530.343.7917 x 202 (proof of residency in Paradise, Maglia, Concow, or Pulga is required).
In addition to those services, we have also started a Spay/Neuter Voucher program. If your pet has been affected by the Camp Fire and is in need of a spay or neuter, please visit www.buttehumane.org/voucher-application.
BHS has also opened up a Pet Food & Supply Pantry for evacuees and their pets. It is located at 2580 Fair Street in Chico, and it is open Friday & Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Holidays might affect these hours.

If you are looking for a temporary foster home for your pet while you get back on your feet, check out this Facebook group dedicated to finding fosters for pets! All fostering through this group is person-to-person, BHS is not involved in this process.
