Adoption Returns

Butte Humane Society does everything in its power to create a successful match between an adopter and your new companion.  However, we do understand that circumstances do occur which may prevent you from keeping the animal. 

We recommend that you explore solutions to the problems you face with your animal prior to surrender. Butte Humane Society has many resources to help you keep your animal in your home. Just ask us for help!

If you are still unable to keep your new pet, please fill out one of the forms below and bring it in with you.

• Returned Adoption Form - Cat 
• Returned Adoption Form - Dog
• Returned Adoption Form - Small Animal

If you had the animal in your possession for 30 days or less, and you wish to adopt a different animal from BHS, you may have your paid adoption fee transferred toward the new animal's adoption fee. After 30 days, the adoption fee is non-transferable.

Please note: Butte Humane Society will always welcome back an animal that was adopted from us, regardless of when the adoption took place.
